The respected Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), Government of India (GoI), Ms. Neerja Sekhar, is welcomed at SRFTI for the inaugural ceremony of ArCuREA 2024 by the Director of SRFTI, Mr. Himansu Sekhar Khatua, the Dean of SRFTI and Artistic Director of ArCuREA, Mr. Vipin Vijay, and the Registrar of SRFTI, Dr. Sushrut Sharma, and visits the Pramod Pati Cinema Art and Technology Museum.
Following an opening ceremony in the presence of the honourable Chief Guest, the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), Government of India (GoI), Ms. Neerja Sekhar, the Director of SRFTI, Mr. Himansu Sekhar Khatua, and the Dean of SRFTI and Artistic Director of ArCuREA, Mr. Vipin Vijay, the International Colloquium on Archiving and Restoration begins. The keynote address, titled ‘Notes Towards an Expanded Archive of Cinema: Short film and Intermedia’ is delivered Mr. Ravi Vasudevan, followed by sessions with other prominent academics, scholars, archivists, curators, and institutions.
Following a keynote address by Mr. Ashish Rajadhyaksha, titled ‘Five Versions of Titash: Theses on Celluloid’ other prominent academics, scholars, archivists, curators, and institutions present on themes related to preserving, digitizing, restoring and archiving films.
Eminent filmmakers, academics, artistes, curators and festival programmers such as Madhusree Dutta, Shabnam Virmani, S.V. Srinivas, Meenakshi Sheddi, Bina Paul, Grant Smith, Donn Scarfe, Maria Papadomanolaki, and Dayanita Singh deliver compelling sessions on the various aspects of curation and archiving.

He tours the venues of the events and the Pramod Pati Cinema Art and Technology Museum, and addresses an audience at the SRFTI Main Theatre.
The closing ceremony of ArCuRea commences with the felicitation of the speaker of the First P.K. Nair Commemoration Lecture, Dr. Sudhir Kakar, the Joint Secretary of NETPAC, Ms, Bina Paul, and NETPAC member, Mr. Patrick F. Campos. Mr. Campos, Associate Professor, Film Institute, University of the Philippines Diliman and hon’able jury member, ArCuRea Cinema Curation Workshop, then addresses the audience. The presentation of participation certificates to the participants of the ArCuRea Cinema Curation Workshop, and the announcement of the NETPAC awards for Best Curatorial Proposal and Special Mention by Ms. Bina Paul follow. After a closing address by the Director, SRFTI, Mr. Himansu Sekhar Khatua, Dr. Kakar delivers his speech for the First P. K. Nair Commemoration Lecture. The closing ceremony ends with a vote of thanks delivered by the Dean, SRFTI and Artistic Director of ArCuRea, Mr. Vipin Vijay.
